Singapore Street Festival

Singapore Street Festival (SSF) celebrates 20th Anniversary with its first online concert, NXT – A Virtual Music Event which will be premiered ‘LIVE’ on YouTube on 18 December 2021 at 8 pm.Screening continues till 17 February 2022.

The festival is sending out an OPEN CALL with the opportunity to perform with Dick Lee and other top musicians in NXT – A Virtual Music Event organised by Singapore Street Festival as part of its 20th Anniversary. Registration opens on 18 June 2021 on this link: https://www.sistic.com.sg/events/nxt2021 and closes on 17 July 2021.

Social media platforms will be ready by then.The top 9 groups will be selected in August 2021 and they will have to attend masterclasses, clinics, rehearsals and recording sessions leading up to the virtual concert on 18 December 2021. They will have the opportunity to perform on the digital stage with Singapore’s legendary singer–songwriter Dick Lee, our top musicians and mentors as well as youth composers. They will also get the rare and special opportunity to receive mentorship and guidance on their new music compositions and attend clinics, masterclasses with top composers, musicians and mentors.

Dick Lee is one of Singapore’s best-known personalities in the art scene.  Besides his creative output as a musician, playwright and designer, Dick is also involved in creative ideas in events management and advertising.

In 2004, he received the Cultural Medallion, one of the top accolades in Singapore, for his achievements in music. Throughout his career, Dick has orchestrated and directed numerous national-level projects and events.

Founded in 2002, Singapore Street Festival’s platform also allows youth to come forward to be trained in organising, including planning and execution, also in stage management skills. YouthHarmony, a new youth organisation will take on the roles of youth leaders in training in this year’s NXT – A Virtual Music Event digital concert.

 The Virtual Music Event 2021 is a partnership with the Somerset Belt, driven by the National Youth Council and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.

SSF 2021 supporting partners are the Academy of Rock, Xctuality, Sistic.Com, Music & Drama Company, and Moulmein-Cairnhill Youth Network. PAssion Card is SSF 2021’s privileged card.
