Clad in a simple, printed salwaar kameez, that too on a Monday morning, she stepped into the office full of poise and dignity. “Good afternoon,” she greeted us with a warm handshake and confident voice.
As the first Indian woman in Singapore to head a huge Public Relations firm, Burson-Marstellar, Barkha Patel-Zinzuwadia, who is in her early 40s, has over 18 years of communications experience in India and Asia Pacific, covering a variety of sectors including technology, financial services and healthcare. After graduating from Queen Mary School, this CEO & Market Leader (Shingapore), obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science at St Xavier’s College but decided to switch tracks and do postgraduate diploma in Public Relations and Advertising.
“For a reason that, to this date, I’m not very sure of, I decided to pursue something that was completely tapping the other brain - more creative, writing, or communications oriented,” she chuckled. “I always had an interest in writing but never pursued it in an active way.”
We caught up with the accomplished communications professional to find out more about her career and experiences.
