The compact-luxury-utility segment in Singapore is a smorgasbord of superbly designed urban ‘trekking’ SUVs. With the likes of the BMW X3, Porsche Macan and the Range Rover Evoque to name a few, can the all-new Lexus NX grab a slice of the pie in this keenly contested class?
Firstly, let’s talk about the car’s specifications. For the NX, Lexus has decided to introduce two variants, the first one being the 300h, which happens to be the test car we have driven, and the second a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. But the focus is on the 300h and what we have here is an electric motor assisted Atkinson-cycle 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that cranks out 208 bhp and 210 Nm worth of torque. As for the century sprint, though unimpressive, the car manages a decent zero to 100 in 9.2 seconds.
