Internationally renowned surf company Rip Curl recently gave artists from the Southeast Asian region an opportunity to exhibit their talent on a platform on which their counterparts from all over the world have had the opportunity to do so.
In this competition, regional artists demonstrated their creative prowess through a diverse array of artistic methods, such as photography, painting, graphic design and illustrations.
Held at the Kult Kafe, the hip cafe was remodelled into a contemporary art gallery, showcasing the vibrant byproducts of the campaign launched by the said brand from all over the globe. On display were exhibition booths by Belly Magazine, and a live painting by the dynamic duo of Eric Foenander and Dawn Ang.
The penultimate champion of this respective contest would be awarded the grand prize, a pair of all expenses paid tickets to the largest Asian Art Fair in 2017; Art Basel in Hong Kong, conveniently complemented with US$1000 spending money and the probable opportunity of working on Rip Curl’s latest clothing lines.
