The trend of Indians migrating overseas for better career prospects seems to be reversing. A number of Non-resident Indians (NRIs) are now returning to India due to the country’s high pace of growth and economic potential.
A recent report in the Times of India said that it is not just IT professionals or doctors who are coming back, but professionals working almost all industries including finance, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, textiles and food processing.
Moorthy K Uppaluri, CEO, Randstad India, told the publication that apart from the above mentioned factors even salaries in India are almost at par with the West.
NRIs too are in demand due to their experience in developed markets, and professional work culture. In addition to this, they have a good understanding of the cultural differences between India and other developed markets.
