Kidzania, an indoor family edutainment centre, which allows children to experience real life occupations will open its doors to residents in Singapore by the end of 2015. Located at Palawan beach, Sentosa, it promises to be a kid-sized city with paved streets, transport, banks, restaurants, hospitals and more.
There are currently 20 Kidzania centres around the world, but this is the first that will be located on an island resort and will teach children lessons in a tropical backdrop. Singapore’s Kidzania has also made an effort to include Singaporean culture through symbols and monuments like the Monumental Flag, the Independence Fountain, and even aspects of the language. Partners include Lifebuoy, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, KFC, Canon, etc.
As an indoor educational centre with various establishments where children can go from being a firefighter to being a doctor in a matter of minutes, they are given a taste of the different vocations that exist and what they are like while teaching them important lessons about safety and hygiene.
“In Kidzania Singapore, we inspire and empower kids to pursue their dreams and pick up life skills through role play. We look forward to nurture and give kids the confidence and resources to challenge themselves to explore a world of opportunities,” said Leong Yue Weng, in an official statement.
