A two-day event bringing together Indian and Singaporean start-ups will begin on January 5, one day before the inauguration of the Asean-India Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (Overseas Indian Day) convention. While the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) will be held on January 6 and 7, the IndiaSingapore/Asean Entrepreneurship Bridge (InSpreneur) will be January 5 and 6. Both the events will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre in Singapore.
InSpreneur is designed as a platform to connect start-ups and investors in India and Singapore and to promote collaboration in the Asean region. The inaugural InSpreneur will focus on start-ups, fintech, cyber security, disruptive technologies in manufacturing and India Digital Stack (India’s successful model of Aadhar UID-enabled governance, public services, financial inclusion and payment systems).
Start-ups will be able to pitch their ideas to investors and interact with one another at the event, which will culminate in the launch of the India-Singapore/Asean Start-up Digital Portal. About 600 invited delegate will be taking part, including 250 start-ups --120 of them from India. More than 60 investors have signed up. Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry and SG Innovate are supporting the event. So are India’s Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Invest India, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). The organisers have also drawn on the Indian professional and institutional associations, including the IIM Alumni Association, IIT Alumni Association and TiE Singapore.
