A group of well-known and respected Singaporeans, concerned for the well-being of succeeding generations of Singaporeans, have come together to launch a new non-profit organisation to promote a culture of “honour and honouring” here.
Called Honour (Singapore), the organisation will look to bringing back the idea of Singapore as "HOME", which offers "Uplifting HOpe and heartening MEmory" to Singaporeans.
The Board has Lim Siong Guan as its Chairman, Jason Wong as its Executive Director, and Khoo Oon Theam, Georgie Lee, and Richard Magnus as Directors. It has a Panel of Community Advisors for guidance and counsel chaired by Philip Ng and comprises Janet Ang, Claire Chiang, Chua Thian Poh, Fang Ai Lian, Laurence Lien, Andy Lim, Mohamed Alami Musa, Zainul Abidin Rasheed, and Dr Edwin Thumboo.
Honour (Singapore) expects to engage a broad spectrum of Singapore society - schools, families, businesses, workplaces and community groups - through talks, conferences, and other events, to spread the message that a culture of honour and honouring is fundamental for success in many aspects of life. Honour (Singapore) expects to conduct various engagement programmes on applying honour in daily living.
