Brace yourselves Potterheads- Singapore Philatelic Museum will be unveiling an exhibit that will leave you spellbound. “Collecting Magic: From Stamps to Wands” is a Harry Potter-themed exhibition bringing together limited edition stamps from all over the world. Eloquently designed to the finest of details, each stamp allows visitors a nostalgic glimpse into the world of Harry Potter.
Avid fans may explore the wizarding world in the form of a wide array of movie memorabilia on loan from local collectors. Featuring a life-sized model of Platform Nine and Three-Quarters as well as an intricate replica of Harry’s signature annular spectacles, the exhibit doesn’t fail to enamour.
Magic is brought to life in the thrilling interactive multimedia exhibits developed by a team of students from Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Interactive & Digital Media. With the “swish and flick” of a wand, visitors may enact their favourite spells, and watch as portraits come alive.
Ms Tresnawati Prihadi, General Manager of SPM, says “‘Collecting Magic: From Stamps To Wands’ honours the tradition of collecting, particularly in the area of philately. Postage stamps, alongside community contributed collectives, help make the Harry Potter experience more tangible and real.”
‘Collecting Magic: From Stamps to Wands’’ will be open to the public from 2 November at Singapore Philatelic Museum.
