Valentino’s Fall 2016 and Fall/Winter 2016-2017 collection features a remarkable intersection of culture and couture, drawing its inspiration from the chaos, and emotional turmoil of contemporary society. Ingenious designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli present a line of twelve wardrobe essentials, all detached and adjusted with gold studs that are influenced by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi - perfect imperfection.
From ballet-inspired gowns to metal-studded dresses, each article of clothing preserves the tension between industrial production and artisanal craftsmanship. Valentino’s newest collection is a fantastical experience that takes spectators through an emotional and aesthetic journey, nourished by the conviction that life and art can coexist through fashion.
Inspired by Jon Krakauer’s critically acclaimed novel Into the Wild, designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli also shoulder an aesthetic exploration of empirical genuinity for the new Valentino Men’s Collection. A wardrobe comprising of unpredictable variations blends an outdoor spirit perfectly with beat and bohemian exoticism, trendy punk vibes, monotone with hints of the Pacific Northwest as well as tribal embellishments.
The collection features the unique blend of totally black double cashmere Couture pieces, spellbinding geometric patterns of Navaho blankets as well as timeless classics like the Camel hair coat. This Fall/Winter 2016-2017 Men’s collection revolves around the quest to individuality.
