The India Super League, the newest football event in India, is attracting big names. After the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet and Robert Pires, FC Goa has managed to put every other franchise in the shade by signing on Brazilian great Arthur Antunes Coimbra, or simply Zico, as its marquee manager.
The Brazilian superstar who played in three World Cups and coached Japan, signed on the dotted line for FC Goa on Tuesday, agreeing to guide the fortunes of the Goan franchise in the inaugural season of the ISL.
"This is a proud moment for the franchise. We are honoured that a football legend of the stature of Zico has agreed to coach FC Goa," FC Goa said in a statement.
The FC Goa franchise is owned by Shrinivas Dempo, Dattaraj Salgaocar and Venugopal Dhoot.
