Global warming seems to have taken to a whole new level, with global temperatures accelerating rapidly to reach a new high. April 2016 was the “hottest April on record globally” – and it doesn’t just stop there. It was also the “seventh month in a row” to have smashed all global temperature records, as reported by The Guardian.
Scientists have been anxiously discussing the imminent “climate emergency” that doesn’t seem too far to come if global temperatures continue to soar at this rate. Statistically, 2016 is bound to be the hottest year on record.
According to figures released by Nasa during the weekend, the global temperature of land and sea was 1.11C warmer in April than the average temperature for the month during the period 1951-1980.
