Singapore’s first ghost-zombie romantic comedy will hit the silver screen on Valentine’s Day next year.
This was announced by the movie’s producers, WaWa Pictures, Shining Entertainment Investment, Clover Films, Artistes Marketing Asia and AC Music Entertainment.
The cast is an ensemble of well-known local artistes including singer-songwriter Nathan Hartono, Ferlyn G, Jesseca Liu, Jeremy Chan, Fann Wong, Gurmit Singh, Andie Chen, Kate Pang, Jack Neo, Suhaimi Yusof, Constance Song, Dennis Chew, Shaun Chen, Yvonne Lim, Zheng Ge Ping, Lee Teng and Chen Tianwen.
Made by local director Han Yew Kwang, the movie tells the story of Pong, who turns into a zombie while saving his town from disaster. He drifts aimlessly till a female ghost named Zhen Zhen (Ferlyn) comes into his life. Warner Music Singapore will be releasing the soundtrack. It will be available for iTunes pre-order on January 18 and arrive on all digital platforms on February 15.
Singapore-Taiwan TV show
Mediacorp will be collaborating with Taiwanese production house Eightgeman and Taiwan Television Enterprise on a new TV show called All Is Well. Set in Singapore and Taiwan, the television drama based on hacking of ATMs in Taiwan in 2016 will unfold in two parallel plots, one in Singapore, the other in Taiwan. The Singapore-based sequence will be shown Monday to Friday on Channel 8 at 9 pm from late August 2019, followed immediately by the Taiwan-based sequence on Channel U at 10 pm the same night.The two series have 20 episodes each and will be made available on Toggle.
Singapore-Philippines movies and TV shows
Meanwhile, Singapore’s Cre8 Productions will be making films and TV projects with Filipinos. It will be producing six films in collaboration with Philippines media conglomerate ABS-CBN and its film arm ABS-CBN Films. This follows the success of Cre8’s first movie in collaboration with ABS-CBN Films, the horror picture Eerie, directed by Mikhail Red. Cre8 has also inked a memorandum of understanding with another Philippines company, Ursa Entertain, to co-produce a slate of three film and television projects.
