When you come across a book titled Goddess & Whore, your interest is bound to be piqued. For these are two typical stereotypes women in India are generally slotted into. The collection of poems by journalist-turned-author Madhurima Duttagupta is a captivating collection of musings, presented in a modern and youthful way. This collection creates a vivid narrative of a woman’s journey as she steps out of her various social identities to discover who she is.
While the book was released in India earlier, it was presented to the winners of the prestigious National Level Debate, at the IIT Kharagpur's Spring Fest 2014. It is now available t bookstores like Kinokuniya in Singapore, housed in the Indian Literature section.
