The overabundance of humidity in the air during monsoon can damage your pores, skin and hair, resulting in them appearing dull and lifeless. A customised daily skincare routine is to be adhered to in monsoons as well, in which cleansing is a must. Rain water left on the skin for long periods of time can act as an irritant making the skin itchy and easily prone to bacterial and fungal infections. Wash your face with a gentle face wash at least twice a day and soon after you have got wet in the rain. Scrub your skin with mild granulated scrubs regularly to keep the skin smooth.
Here are a few beauty guidelines for a youthful and radiant skin this monsoon season.
1. Shield your skin: Just because it’s cloudy, does not mean the skin is protected from the sun. UV rays penetrate the clouds too, hence always use a good sunscreen lotion with a high SPF factor. Repeat this after three-four hours.
2. Drink at least 2.5-3 litres of water to maintain hydration, even though it is pouring outside. The rainy season can be deceptively dehydrating which in turn can reflect on the skin.
