Q: The festive season takes a toll on our skin. Are there any instant ways to revive it, considering that beauty parlours and salons are quite crowded?
A: Yes, with all the festivities and non-stop partying, the skin and the hair does take a beating. There are a few quick fixes which one can safely bank on to help the skin recover.
Home remedy for brightening: Take 1 tablespoon milk powder, and a few drops of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of fresh orange juice. Make a smooth paste. Leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off in a circular motion with cold water.
Dry, frizzy hair:If the hair that looked great the night before looks like birds have camped in it the next morning, you can tame the dryness or wild frizz that could have been caused by mousse, hairspray or other hair products.
To tame the hair: Wash your hair with shampoo and a detangling conditioner. Detangle while still wet, by running a wide-toothed comb through your hair.
Dark circles or puffy eyes: Chill two slices of cucumber in the fridge and place one on each eye for about 10-15 minutes. It will reduce the puffiness.
