Sanchit Art, New Delhi in association with Phi Events, Singapore will present art patrons in Singapore a scintillating selection of modern and Indian contemporary masters in May 2014.
The event, proposed to take place at The Arts House from May 22-25, 2014, will not just showcase art works but also encourage interaction between art lovers and the participating artists present during this show. Plans are afoot to have interactive sessions and panel discussion involving Indian as well as Singaporean masters.
The present version, titled ‘Kala-Sutra-2’ will bring 12 artists from India. Their varied age-profile and equally divergent painting techniques ably illustrate symbolic representation of observed reality in different idiosyncratic style that shares a common link with the art of their ancestors.
Hovering between docufiction and intimism, this curated assemblage, put together by Arun Ghose, positions the contemporary art of India in its true perspective. Artists on show include Ram Kumar, Jogen Chowdhury and Sakti Burman, Satish Gujral, Thota Vaikuntam, Paresh Maity, Neeraj Goswami, Arpana Caur and Jayasri Burman. Building upon the success of last year’s event, this year promises to be a bigger event.
