Aseem Arora is excited to put his more than 25 years in private banking to good use in Silverdale

From managing wealth to creating wealth, banker Aseem Arora has vast experience in the financial world. As President of Silverdale Capital Pte Ltd, he believes his boutique investment firm has the potential to grow into a global name to reckon with.
India Se Media speaks exclusively to the Delhi boy who shares his vision for Silverdale.
India Se: Tell us a little about yourself.
Aseem Arora: I was born in New Delhi and grew up there. I did my Bachelor of Commerce from Delhi University and MBA from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
India Se: What prompted you to take up a career in banking and finance?
Aseem Arora: It happened by chance. On a holiday visit to Hong Kong, I was introduced to Citibank. I was interviewed by Citibank and offered the role of a relationship manager for a wealth management business which I really liked. The learning curve was steep but very exhilarating as it gave me a chance to help high-net-worth clients manage and grow their wealth.
India Se: When and how did you move to Singapore?
Aseem Arora: Prior to moving to Singapore, I had built the wealth management business for Citibank in the Philippines. I was transferred to Citibank, Singapore in the year 2000. The role was to head the Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia markets for Citibank wealth management business. I have been in Singapore ever since and held senior roles at Merrill Lynch and Bank of Singapore.
India Se: What prompted you to join Silverdale? Tell us a little about your role here.
Aseem Arora: What excited me to join Silverdale is the challenge and opportunity to build an international business of scale in the very promising and scalable asset management industry. I have more than 25 years of experience in wealth management and private banking gained at some of the world’s best organisations such as Citibank, Merrill Lynch and Bank of Singapore. I joined private banking as a junior relationship manager and over the years grew to be the global head of a big international private banking business. This gave me a great insight and intimate knowledge of setting up and scaling financial businesses. It also helped me develop a huge network of private banks, family offices and independent asset managers across the globe.
I felt extremely excited to use this rich experience for growing the fund management business of Silverdale globally.
